Our History
 

Community Action Agency of St. Clair County (CAA) is just one of 30 community action agencies in the state of Michigan, and one of 1,100 nationwide. CAAs are non-profit, private and public organizations established under the Economic Opportunity Act of 1964 to fight America's War on Poverty. CAA has a 40-year history of successfully providing a variety of programs that assist low-income individuals, seniors and families to become economically self-sufficient. These programs have focused on early childhood education, health and nutrition, new home construction and home repairs, financial counseling and emergency assistance services.
